First Shots Class for the General Public

DRPC members and nonmembers are encouraged to join us for a First Shots® introductory classroom and range session where you’ll receive professional guidance on safe firearm handling and shooting practices. Discover the excitement of shooting a handgun and enjoy a sense of accomplishment unlike any other. Has it been a long time since you’ve shot a pistol and you’d like to review the basics or perhaps you know someone who recently purchased or wishes to purchase their first handgun? This course is for them.

Each participant will receive shooting eyeglasses, earmuffs, and handbook to keep. This course consists of 3.5 hours of classroom time covering safe gun handling, parts of a pistol, how a pistol works, eye dominance, grip, stance and other fundamentals of shooting. Then come back the next night for an hour of range time with an NRA-certified instructor, one-on-one.

Cost:                   $100 per person.

Dates

Classroom:         Wednesday, October 6, from 5 to 9 pm

Range:                Thursday, October 7; each participant will be                               given a one-hour time slot sometime

                             between 5 and 8 pm.
